Heathland Management Services was formed in 1995 by Mike Gray and Richard Dale, both of them having qualified in Conservation Management from Farnborough College of Technology.
Our team is carefully selected and are all highly trained and can draw upon a wide range of skills and experience to tackle most aspects of countryside management. We have invested heavily in both equipment and continual training for all personnel.
We have carried out conservation works on over 700 sites throughout the South of England in a variety of habitats including chalk downland reedbeds, woodlands (semi-ancient and secondary) as well as heathland.
Our specialist knowledge of the ecology of heathland allows our clients the comfort of knowing that their site is in safe hands when dealing with the habitat of endangered species.
Our contacts in various other industries have allowed us to obtain an outlet for felled timber that can provide additional income for the site owner. The income is often used to offset against the cost of the conservation work.
In 2003 we were awarded “Site Manager of the year” by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Business Environment Awards for delivering an exceptional performance in site management, which contributes to the achievement of sustainable development in the UK.
